General Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all accommodation bookings unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1. Booking and Confirmation
When making a reservation, you must provide your name, address, email address, arrival and departure dates, and payment method. A reservation is binding on the motel when it has been confirmed verbally, in writing, or by email, and you have received a confirmation number.
2. Arrival and Departure
Check-in is from 3 pm, unless otherwise agreed. We will provide you with the code for the key box before your arrival. The key boxes are located next to the main door. Check-out is by 11:00 am on the day of departure, unless otherwise agreed in advance. Late check-out is possible upon agreement for an additional fee of 20€. Key cards must be returned to the mailbox next to the main door. A fee of 20€ will be charged for lost key cards. If you leave before the agreed departure date, we will not refund the unused portion of the accommodation fee.
3. Cancellation and No-Show
You can cancel your reservation free of charge 3 days before the start of your stay (the stay is considered to start at 6 pm on the day of booking). For cancellations made later, we will charge the full price of the reservation. Reservations made through booking websites/online travel agencies such as Booking.com or Expedia can only be cancelled through the respective service provider. In case of Force Majeure, we may cancel your reservation. In such a case, the person who made the reservation is entitled to a full refund of the payments made.
4. Payments
Payment for the stay must be made through the booking system or by invoice sent by email in advance.
5. Cleaning
Bed linen, towels, and final cleaning are included in the room rates. However, the customer must maintain a reasonable level of cleanliness during their stay and return the apartment or room to a condition that is essentially the same as when it was received. The landlord reserves the right to charge for special cleaning and any damaged furniture, dishes, or equipment according to the actual costs incurred. Special cleaning refers to, for example, special cleaning of furniture or fixed parts of the property that are caused by the customer’s stay.
6. Damage Compensation
Any damage must be reported immediately to the staff, and compensation will be agreed upon on a case-by-case basis.
Motel Rules
We expect all guests to observe good manners and follow the house rules. If you violate these rules, you may be immediately removed from the motel. You will still be required to pay for your accommodation and any additional services ordered, and you will not be entitled to a refund of any payments already made.
1. Pets
Pets are welcome at Motelli Kontio, provided that they have been agreed upon in advance with the staff. We charge a fee of 30€ per pet per stay. Please clean up after your pet immediately.
2. Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor areas of the motel, as well as in the immediate vicinity of the exterior doors. There are designated smoking areas in the front and back yard. A cleaning fee of 1000€ will be charged for smoking indoors.
3. Quiet Hours
Quiet hours at Motelli Kontio are from 10 pm to 7 am.
4. Lost and Found
We will store lost and found items for one month before handing them over to Pohjois-Karjalan Löytötavarapalvelut Oy.
